“Throughout their music, Red Sun nod to the past but live firmly in the present. The Oklahoma City quartet’s sound-a vibrant collision of fifth-wave emo, alt-rock, and pop-is rooted in the DIY spirit that raised them: cramped vans, house shows, and the joy of seeing peers rise through the emo-punk ranks. That shared sense of growth fuels every song on At Their Very Best (Wax Bodega), the band’s debut LP, that balances the angular guitars and raw emotion of Midwest emo against melodies that hit fast and clean.”
